To ensure that our members enjoy them selves everyday our staff continuously strive to provide structured daily activities in an educational, stimulating environment. We are always encouraging our members to give feed back on the activities we provide which allow us a better understanding of activities they enjoy. This allows our staff to think of new and exciting things that will stimulate our members.
Below are just a few examples of activities and fun we all have.
We have a Cooking session every week, our members choose what they would like to make through idea sharing, they are then put on a rota so everyone knows what we are making each week. We make pasties, pizza, curry, quiche, cheesecake, sponges, and lots more. Cooking involves using lots of different skills each week depending on what is being made. This is one of our life skills sessions.
At Inspire we have a vast range of art and craft resources to help any member get stuck in and find thier creative side from painting, embroidery, paper mache, pin art, fairy gardens, weaving and lots more!
Parachute, catchball, hula hoops, beanbags badminton, are some of the games we enjoy that helps to keep us fit.
We use a variety of musical instruments, we listen to the sound they make, how they sound with other instruments and also play games in a fun and interactive way with them.
Our allotment is based on a working dairy farm not far from us where we enjoy gardening, planting, weeding, watering and the beautiful walks that are around the farm and of course a visit to see the cows.
Every week we have a sing and sign session where we learn sign language. Everyone enjoys this as we are learning to communicate with all our friends within the service and our community.
We enjoy walking and getting out in the fresh air, we enjoy spending time outside and love our nature walks.
A fun activity which boosts confidence and self esteem, helps promote vocabulary and is always enjoyed by everyone.
We enjoy playing skittles and having lunch out at a local pub. It’s a lovely part of the social time we have together and lots of fun.
We enjoy trips out and accessing our local community facilities.
We have 4 hens, that live on the farm at the Hayloft. They give our members the opportunity to take responsibility and care for something other than themselves.
We carry out small wood work projects at The Hayloft such as bird boxes, welly racks and anything else our members choose.
